DeLand Library offers financial education programs

DeLand Regional Library offers three programs for Financial Literacy Month. Learn about elder law, your credit score and identity theft during these free programs.

Lawyers Sherri Akin, Wendy Mara and Brittany Green Gloersen will discuss elder law at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 11 in the library classroom. They will cover important elder law issues to help you be better informed and ready to take the next step in your planning.

Curious about your credit rating? Get your questions answered on Tuesday, April 12 at 10 a.m. in the library classroom. This educational seminar will cover the factors that negatively impact credit scores, how to improve your score and more.

The Community Service Unit with the DeLand Police Department will present “Beware of Identity Theft” at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 14 in the library auditorium. This program will discuss the problem of identity theft, how it works, what to do if you become a victim, and ways to prevent it from happening.
