Jakarta (ANTARA) – The government is committed to developing the financial literacy and digital skills of farmers and fishers as part of inclusive and productive economic transformation efforts by strengthening knowledge and technology transfer as well as assistance .
“Enhancing the quality of human resources becomes the key to structural reform towards a sustainable economy and improving people’s prosperity,” Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said in a statement on Thursday.
The government continues to carry out various initiatives of inclusive finance programs for all groups of society as one of the pillars of the national economic growth and recovery strategy.
One of the priority target groups of inclusive finance, according to the Presidential Regulation No. 114 of 2020 on the National Strategy for Inclusive Finance (SNKI), is made up of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), farmers and fishermen. .

The agriculture sector is one of the biggest proponents of economic growth, he noted at the national seminar on accelerating financial inclusion of farmers and fishers.
Given the role of the sector and its significant contribution to the national economy, the government is striving to continue to improve the prosperity of farmers and fishers by collaborating with all stakeholders.
These stakeholders include members of the National Council for Inclusive Finance, Ministries or Institutions, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), Regional Enterprises (RE), and various agricultural sector associations.
To this end, the Minister expects the event to provide more ideas and knowledge.

It is also expected to inspire innovative ideas to deliver lasting impacts to the Accelerating Financial Inclusion Strategy as part of efforts to revive the economy and boost people’s prosperity.
Additionally, Hartarto expects the forum to provide impetus to optimize production outcome through proper management of supply and demand, distribution of subsidies and regeneration by producing farmers and millennial fishermen.
